Web platform and community management

Association & Club Membership Platform

A community platform combining news, events, and galleries with membership applications and a forum, with distinct tools for editors, moderators, and administrators.

Implemented solutionEN11 / 14
01

Institutional context

A community website needed more than public announcements. Membership requests, content updates, and communication between members also needed an operational home.

02

My contribution

  • Development of public content and membership functions within a shared platform
  • Implementation of editor, moderator, and administrator boundaries
  • Preparation of publishing, approval, and moderation queues
03

Problem

Public content, membership review, and forum moderation carry different responsibilities. The platform needed clear permission boundaries instead of giving every operator the same access.

Constraints

  • Separate permissions for visitors, members, editors, moderators, and administrators
  • Administrator approval before forum-account activation
  • Independent handling of publishing and moderation decisions
  • Keeping membership requests and messages separate from public content
Connecting a community interaction to publishing and administration

  3. 03Publication or membership decision
  4. 04Community and follow-up
04

Approach

Public information and community functions were brought into a shared site structure. Management menus and server-side action permissions were scoped by role, with pending work surfaced in the dashboard.

05

Solution built

The platform provides pages, news, events, photo and video galleries, membership applications, approved forum accounts, topic and reply workflows, and moderation tools for user reports.

06

For management

  • Manage news, events, and galleries with publication states
  • Review membership applications and pending forum accounts
  • Moderate forum topics, replies, and user reports
  • Separate user and content permissions through role-based administration
07

Institutional impact

Editors can manage publishing, moderators can oversee community discussions, and administrators can handle membership and user decisions within their responsibilities. New applications and pending reviews appear in visible work queues.

08

Technical scope

  • PHP web application
  • Content and publication-state management
  • Role-based administration permissions
  • Membership applications and account approval
  • Forum and moderation workflows
  • Management queues and exports
