Support and asset management

IT Support & Asset Inventory Management

An internal management system that combines support requests, institutional assets, assignments, and intervention history in one operational workspace.

Implemented solutionEN05 / 14
01

Institutional context

The IT team had to manage daily support requests while also tracking who held each device, where it was located, and what had happened to it over time.

02

My contribution

  • Connected support requests and device inventory in a shared workspace.
  • Implemented role, department and user access boundaries.
  • Developed management summaries and user-administration screens.
03

Problem

When request records and device histories lived in separate lists, recurring faults, responsibilities, and previous interventions could not be evaluated together.

Constraints

  • Maintaining a durable relationship between a request and its asset
  • Restricting unit and technician visibility by authorization
  • Storing attachments and technical notes securely
  • Supporting maintainable deployment across different hosting environments

04

Approach

Requests and inventory remain separate modules linked through a shared event history. The operator queue and the management view of assets and service activity are designed around their distinct tasks.

05

Solution built

The internal application covers request intake and assignment, status and priority management, asset inventory, custody records, intervention history, secure attachments, and reporting.

06

For management

  • Review support workload by status and priority
  • Track device inventory and assignments
  • Manage user roles and departments
  • Organize support responsibilities across departments
07

Institutional impact

The support team can evaluate each request alongside the history of its related asset. Devices, owners, and interventions now share one traceable operational workspace.

08

Technical scope

  • Request and assignment management
  • Asset and custody records
  • Role-based visibility
  • Secure attachments and notes
  • Intervention timeline
  • Reporting and deployment packages
